Biography

Steve Breen was born April 26, 1970 in Los Angeles, California, and was raised with six brothers and sisters in nearby Huntington Beach. While normal kids were at the beach surfing, Steve was at home reading "Mad" magazine and drawing cartoons. Steve was greatly influenced by the work of such cartoonists as Jeff MacNelly, Pat Oliphant and Paul Conrad.

At the University of California at Riverside, Steve drew for the school paper and won the 1991 Locher Award for editorial cartooning and the 1991 Schulz Award for strip cartooning. He graduated with a B.A. in political science in 1992 and received a U.S. History teaching credential in 1994. Steve's cartoons are syndicated by Copley News Service.

He lives in Neptune, New Jersey, and enjoys jogging, playing the guitar and watching old movies on cable.
