More Than 350 Papers Across America Respond to Boston Globe's Call to Publish Editorials in Defense of a Free Press

The Boston Globe homepage of August 16, 2018.

"Journalists Are Not the Enemy."

That's the message Boston Globe Deputy Editorial Page Editor Marjorie Pritchard aimed to spread across the country today. In a piece bearing that headline, the Globe's editorial board wrote:

President Trump relentlessly assaults the free press, calling journalists "the enemy of the people" instead of fellow Americans. This behavior has dangerous consequences. We asked hundreds of editorial boards from around the country — liberal and conservative, large and small — to join us today to address this fundamental threat in their own words.

More than 350 news organizations heeded the Globe's call. Check back here for updates throughout the day.
