Who is the Most Searched Pulitzer Winner?

In honor of Black History Month in February, Google has created a video ad highlighting black excellence over time — identifying 2018 Music prize winner Kendrick Lamar as the most searched Pulitzer winner.

Regarding its methodology, Google said, "To find them, we used U.S.-based Google Trends Data to identify Black American achievements that were searched more than any others between January 1, 2004 – when U.S. Search Data first became available – and July 1, 2019."

"Here’s to the history makers and all those they continue to inspire," the company added.

Other search terms and personalities that appear include "the most searched EGOT winner," in reference to singer John Legend; "the most searched female poet," in reference to poet Maya Angelou; "the most searched autobiography," in reference to "The Autobiography of Malcolm X"; "the most searched ballerina," in reference to New York City Ballet principal dancer Misty Copeland; "the most searched 'Star Spangled Banner," in reference to Whitney Houston's rendition at the 1991 SuperBowl in Tampa, Fla., and "the most searched speech," in reference to Martin Luther King Jr.'s "I Have a Dream."
