The 2026 Pulitzer Prizes and Nominated Finalists in Journalism, Books, Drama and Music will be announced by Administrator Marjorie Miller via livestream (embedded above) on Monday, May 4 at 3 p.m. EDT. Shortly thereafter, winning and nominated work in Journalism will be available alongside representative pages for the Books, Drama and Music categories in the Prize Winners section of pulitzer.org.

Julie Pace, senior vice president and executive editor of The Associated Press, and Vijay Iyer, a composer, pianist and professor at Harvard University, have been elected to the Pulitzer Prize Board, the Pulitzer Prize Administrator’s Office announced today.

The 2026 Pulitzer Journalism competition (encompassing eligible work published in calendar year 2025) has opened. The deadline for entry is January 26, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. Pacific time.
