On Wednesday March 26, 2025, Pulitzer on the Road is coming to Detroit for a conversation on cultural criticism today!
Our next event features Pulitzer Prize winners and finalists in the Criticism category: Justin Chang, a film critic at The New Yorker who received the 2024 Prize for his "richly evocative" oeuvre at the Los Angeles Times; Wesley Morris, a two-time (2012 & 2021) Prize winner and past Boston Globe film critic who currently specializes in art and popular culture criticism at The New York Times; and 2023 finalist Lyndsay C. Green, the food and restaurant critic of the Detroit Free Press.
These critics will be in conversation with Columbia Journalism School Dean Jelani Cobb, an ex officio member of the Pulitzer Board and 2018 Commentary finalist. Together they will discuss writing on film, food, and popular culture in addition to such exigencies as the evolving role of the critic. We are excited to be coming to Detroit's iconic and recently reopened Michigan Central Station for this event.
We hope to see you in Detroit!
