Continuing a hallowed tradition at Columbia University, the 2024 class of Pulitzer Prize winners gathered with family, friends, colleagues and members of the Pulitzer Board at Low Library on October 24 for a dinner ceremony celebrating their awards.
Alongside remarks from University Interim President Katrina Armstrong, 2022-24 Pulitzer Board Co-Chair Neil Brown and Pulitzer Administrator Marjorie Miller, 2024 Commentary winner Vladimir Kara-Murza (who wrote his Pulitzer-winning columns as a Russian political prisoner before being freed in an August exchange deal involving two dozen prisoners from seven countries) personally accepted his award, which he dedicated to all journalists imprisoned in Russia. He also will donate the $15,000 monetary component of the award to his 30 October Foundation, which offers direct aid to the families of Russian political prisoners.
A full list of winners is available here, while a gallery of photos (all credited to David Dini/The Pulitzer Prizes) from the ceremony and reception may be found below. Stay tuned for further additions in the coming days, including acceptance photos and full video of the ceremony.
