2017 Pulitzer Seminar Livestream

Three 2017 Pulitzer Prize winners will gather tonight at Columbia University's School of Journalism at 6 p.m. Eastern time for the annual Pulitzer Seminar. Columbia Journalism School Dean of Academic Affairs Sheila Coronel is moderating the event. The panel will be introduced by Dana Canedy, Administrator of the Pulitzer Prizes.

The panelists will be:

  • Daniel Berehulak, 2017 Pulitzer Prize winner in Breaking News Photography, recognized by the Pulitzer Prize Board "for powerful storytelling through images published in The New York Times showing the callous disregard for human life in the Philippines brought about by a government assault on drug dealers and users."
  • Eric Eyre, 2017 Pulitzer Prize winner in Investigative Reporting, recognized "for courageous reporting, performed in the face of powerful opposition, to expose the flood of opioids flowing into depressed West Virginia counties with the highest overdose death rates in the country."
  • Sarah Ryley, 2017 Pulitzer Prize winner in Public Service, recognized with the New York Daily News and ProPublica "for uncovering widespread abuse of eviction rules by the police to oust hundreds of people, most of them poor minorities."

The event is scheduled to conclude between 7:00-7:30 p.m. If you are in the New York City area, the Seminar is free and open to the public at Pulitzer Hall's third-floor Lecture Hall; however, seating may be limited.
